Modeled after the popular Achievement Awards program, which tracks a horse's performance, the AAA program assigns points to individual riders, handlers and drivers. Riders don't have to own the horse they compete with since this program tracks riders only. Available for youth and adults. |
Qualifying classes and rides include AHA Recognized & US Equestrian Federation/EC-rated shows and events; Endurance & Competitive Trail rides and open dressage classes; USEA Eventing; and some pole bending and barrel racing competitions in Arabian divisions.
Points are awarded as follows:
For showmanship, breeding or in-hand classes -
- Handler of Honor Champion - 75 points
- Handler of Supreme Honor Champion - 150 points
- Handler of Excellence Champion - 300 points (Requires two quality achievements** in Showmanship, Breeding and/or In-Hand Classes)
For performance classes or distance rides -
- Rider of Honor Champion - 75 points
- Rider of Supreme Honor Champion - 150 points
- Rider of Excellence Champion - 300 points (Requires two quality achievements** in performance classes, dressage, equitation, eventing, racing, competitive trail or endurance rides)
For showmanship, breeding, in-hand, performance classes and distance rides -
- Horseman of Merit Champion - 75 points with a minimum of 30 points in Showmanship, Breeding and In-Hand classes and 30 points in performance classes, dressage, equitation, eventing, racing competitive trail or endurance rides
- Horseman of Supreme Merit Champion - 150 points with a minimum of 60 points in Showmanship, Breeding and In-Hand classes and 60 points in performance classes, dressage, equitation, eventing, racing competitive trail or endurance rides
- Master Horseman Champion - 300 points (Requires two quality achievements** ) with a minimum of 120 points in Showmanship, Breeding and In-Hand classes and 120 points in performance classes, dressage, equitation, eventing, racing competitive trail or endurance rides
** Quality Achievements are 2 National Top Tens or a Regional Top Five & a National Top Ten
Enrollment Fees:
- $35 one-time enrollment fee
- $30 annual renewal fee
- $75 per back calendar year or partial year for points earned prior to a horse's enrollment
