FEATURED YOUTH EVENT
Convention is hands-down the
single most important annual event for AHYA! This is the place to suggest
change for your Association, and that's why YOU need to be there. Put it in
your Palm Pilot! It's Saturday, July 19 (that's the day before Youth
Nationals starts) on the New Mexico State Fairgrounds in the School Arts
Building. Committee meetings start at 9:00 am, and General Session kicks off
with a skit at 12:30 pm. The theme this year is fashion show-inspired, “The
New Look, Designs by AHYA.” Paparazzi will be on the hunt for Queens of Chic
and Kings of Cool so wear your sleekest, funkiest fashions!
KICK IT UP A NOTCH!
Get involved by becoming
a delegate at the AHYA Convention. Check with your club about
representing your peers in New Mexico on July 19. It's a big job and you're
just the person to do it! Still power hungry? Run for office! You could be
the next President, Vice President, Secretary, or Treasurer of AHYA! Grab an
application from the website at www.ArabianHorses.org/youth.asp
under “Youth Forms,” complete it according to the instructions, and submit it
by June 15 for your chance to be the Next Big Thing.

Nationals? There's more to this show than the show ring… Tons of activities

SOUVENIR YOUTH
NATIONALS SHOW PROGRAM
Some day, when you are
like, 35 (BLAH!), you'll be going through a box of stuff your mother packed
away when you went off to college and you will pull out the 2003 Youth
Nationals Show Program! You will immediately turn to YOUR class--and look
at all the horses and kids you competed against. This will prompt a
discussion of "I wonder what ever happened to..." as you browse
through the book which will then make you pick up your cell phone and renew
contact with one of your old barn acquaintances from an ad you saw! This
friend will then invite you to a party where you will meet the brother of the
second baseman from her husband's company softball team and you will fall
madly in love. SO--you have to advertise in this year's Youth Nationals Show
Program because your future may just depend on it! (And be sure to list your
parent's phone number!!). Ad rates start at ONLY $75!

Calling all tortured
artists!!! The 2003 Creative Contest is your chance for publication,
recognition, prizes–in short, fortune and fame! Choose from these categories:
Art, Audio Visual, Computer, Writing or Photography. Champions receive $50
