How to Download Alternative Browsers for AOL Users

The AOL browser does not support some parts of our Web site. To access those parts we recommend that AOL users use either the Netscape or Internet Explorer browser.

Note: Most PCs with Windows already have Internet Explorer installed.

Netscape:

1. Click on AOL Keyword icon.
2. Type netscape in keyword box.
3. Click Go!
4. On the top right hand side click on Downloads.
5. Click on the red FREE Download button.
6. A file download box appears. Choose Run this program from its current location and click OK.
7. Follow all on screen prompts to load and install Netscape Communicator.
8. After the installation program finishes, please make sure that all other programs are closed out, including AOL, and restart your computer.
9. After you have successful restarted your PC, connect to AOL and sign on.
10. Minimize AOL program.
11. Double click on the Netscape icon on your desktop to access our resources.

Internet Explorer:

1. Click on AOL Keyword icon.
2. Type explorer 7 in keyword box.
3. Click Go!
4. Click on Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.
5. On the right hand side underneath the blue highlighted DOWNLOAD text make sure "English" is the selected language and click the Go! Button.
6. On the right hand side underneath the blue highlighted DOWNLOAD text click the link Internet Explorer 7.
7. Choose Run this program from its current location and click OK.
8. Click Yes if asked whether you would like to install and run Internet Explorer 7.
9. Accept the License Agreement and click Next to begin the installation process.
10. After installation has finished you will be prompted to restart your computer, please choose the OK button in the dialog window.
11. After you have successfully restarted your PC, connect to AOL and sign on.
12. Minimize your AOL Browser.
13. Open Internet Explorer to access our resources.
