Dressage Awards

 G12_5637 copy_BorderAHA has two programs designed for dressage enthusiasts who are showing the Arabian and Half-Arabian/Anglo-Arabian breed in the Open circuit. These awards and programs are designed to honor horses and riders.


Fee Summary:

  • USDF All-Breed Awards/horse/year:
  • Within 30 days of first competition - $35
  • After 30 days of first competition - $45
  • Dressage Rider Award program per level - $45



AHA is a participating Organization at the 2021 US Dressage Finals. High Score Awards will be provided to current AHA members in the following categories:


  • New for 2021! One award for high score junior/young rider at the National Levels (Training through Fourth Levels).
  • Two awards for high score adult amateur riders. One award for the National Levels (Training through Fourth Levels) and one award for the FEI Levels (Prix St. Georges through Grand Prix).
  • Two awards for the high score open riders. One award for the National Levels (Training through Fourth Levels) and one award for the FEI Levels (Prix St. Georges through Grand Prix).


Note: Freestyle classes will not be included. Only scores from the US Dressage Finals classes will be used for high score calculations.

Dressage / Western Dressage Rider Award


From Basic/Training through Fourth level, earn certificates or lapel pins, depending on your level of competition. After the initial enrollment, riders are eligible for an award once they earn two or more scores of 60 percent or better from two separate rides and two different judges. Only scores earned after enrollment are counted. The show secretary reports scores earned at AHA-recognized shows while riders report their scores from Open shows on the official Open Show Report Form.

Enrollment requires a one time $45 fee per level of competition.  Scores are accumulative and do not need to be earned in the same year.  The rider must have an AHA Membership with Competition Card to enroll in the program and have results recorded.

USDF All Breed Dressage Award

IMG_0458_BorderThe United States Dressage Federation and the Arabian Horse Association have teamed up for the Dressage All Breeds Awards. Scores earned through USDF/AHA Recognized Shows or through USDF Open Shows can count toward the USDF All Breeds Awards. To be considered for this award, horses must be enrolled with AHA, prior to September 1 (for 2020 only, the enrollment date has been changed to September 30). Any enrollments postmarked or electronic transaction dated after August 31 will be processed for the upcoming award year. Top horses will receive a certificate and other recognition.


Enrollment is just $35 if received before the first competition and $45 if submitted 30 days after the first event. The recorded owner of the horse must be a current Member of AHA. Your horse MUST be enrolled with USDF website for a $35 fee as well in order to participate in the All-Breeds program. Please contact the United States Dressage Federation for additional award requirements.

IMG_9177_BorderIf the enrollment or scores are sent in after 30 days of the competition date then the fee is $65 per horse per year.

The enrollment year is considered to be from January 1 - December 31.

Only scores will count for qualifications. There will be no qualification points earned from Open Dressage shows based on placings.

Results reporting

Shows must be sanctioned by USEF/USDF or EC.

Results must be sent to the AHA office on the official Open Qualifying Show/Event Report Form. Copies of the applicable pages of the prize list must be included verifying the judges, show secretary & show manager as well as the show name and class list.

The report form must be filled out in full, including the horse's registration number and the rider's current member number.

If the show secretary or manager cannot sign the report form then the following can be used as verification along with the results form:


  • Print out from the USEF or USDF websites of the horse's competition record with the dressage scores listed.
  • Copy of the test score sheet with attached verification of the show being sanctioned by USEF/USDF or EC.


In order for results to be recorded the owner and the rider both must hold current AHA Competition Level Memberships.

Only scores of 55% or better will be recorded for Intro through 3rd Levels and only scores of 50% or better will be recorded for 4th Level and higher.

Scores from schooling shows, Kur and Musical Freestyle do not count and will not be recorded.
